Slippers for Diabetic Health

Here are my footwear for everyday use. They may look a little dirty, but like I said, they are for

my daily use. Due to the poor circulation of blood, especially in the feet, slipper like these are a

real life saver. Literally!!  These are "Kenko" slippers from Japan and they aide in promoting good

blood circulation in your feet and body. It has long since been a practice of  Chinese accupoint doctors

to focus on the bottom of your foot to heal many body ailments. These slippers with their various

heighted bumps apply pressure to specific points on the bottom of your feet to create a better flow

of blood and balance in your body as a whole.  Having advanced diabetes as I do, these slippers

allow me to walk for longer periods and distance. Without them, I could manage one average city

block, then I would lose all feeling in both my feet, leaving me helpless and immobile. The dark blue

slippers were shipped to me direct from Japan from a concerned friend, the brown slippers I bought

locally in Las Vegas at "Nakata Market of Japan" which specialize in all sorts of Japan goods and

products. You can find them on 2350 South Rainbow Blvd. (corner of Rainbow and Sahara), suite

6 & 7. Behind Asian Buffet and McDonalds. Call them at 702-257-1414 or fax at 702-257-1418.

These are my other two treasures, not as supportive or beneficial as the slippers above, but

offer alternative footwear for the fashion conscience (or those who just want to wear something

different). The slipper style below is from Sport Chalet near Summerlin and comes in a whopping

size 13 (which is displayed here). The above "almost shoes" as I call them are from BrookStone

and they are called Temperpedic shoes like those space age beds and pillow they sell. They kind

of feel like walking on Jell-O, but you get used to them and they allow for blood movement below

your feet which is what it's all about in diabetic care. Birkenstock also makes a "Kenko" type

sandal called the Nobby, but it would be hard pressed to find these as they are back ordered

in Germany for the next 2 years or so.  But you can always look them up online (which is how

I found out about the backorder - no one had it at the more than 50 places I contacted).

Another point to mention is that, the dark blue slipper above sent to me from Japan were $30

a pair, the brown ones I got locally at Nakata Market were less than $15, the ones from Sport

Chalet were $13, and the Temperpedic "almost shoes" were $90.  Birkenstock Nobby's sell

for $70, so these footwear don't necessarily come cheap, but they are just like medicines, so...

Well, I hope this section proves to assist you in your diabetic care. I will constantly add to this

sections and offer purchase points whenever I can. After all, what good is knowing what to buy

when you don't know where to get them.  Gambatte! which means "hang in there!"
